It's straightforward to design your key tag. We always email proofs for your approval before we produce the key rings and key tags themselves. We can use your website to get ideas, colours and logos so the tags will match the rest of your marketing.
There are just a few practical decisions you’ll need to make.
- Identification. First, consider whether you want to identify your key tags with your property. Unidentified key tags offer higher security if the key tags are lost, or not returned when the guest checks out. We usually recommend this option for new designs. You can use part of your logo, the colour scheme of your promotional material or the logo of your chain or trade association to make the key tags professional and stylish.
- Information. The front of the key tag normally has a room number at one end and a logo or design at the other. The room number can be parallel with the long edge of the tag or ‘vertical’ so that it can be read when hanging on a key board. How you store your key tags may influence how you prefer the room numbers to appear.
- Key return. The back of the tag usually has a return address so that any key tags taken unintentionally can be easily returned to you. Australia Post has a key return service where unpackaged key tags dropped in a mailbox will be returned for a small fee. Our key tag design complies with the Australia Post requirements for this service.
The return address for an unidentified design should be a PO Box, which most hotel chains and trade associations have available for their members’ use. However if you don’t have a PO Box, you may be able to use that of your accountant, body corporate or local visitor centre.
